Call for Papers - Australian Conference

Irrigation Australia Ltd (IAL) is calling for papers for its 2020 International Conference and Exhibition. This event is combined with the International Commission on Irrigation & Drainage (ICID) 24th International Congress and 71st International Executive Council Meeting (IEC), this will be the first time that the Congress has been held in Australia. The closing date to submit abstracts is the 14th of March 2020. With the theme innovation and research in agriculture water management to achieve sustainable development goals, the biennial Irrigation Australia event will be held from Tuesday 22nd  to Thursday 24th September, 2020, at the International Convention Centre (ICC) in Sydney. The ICID country membership network is spread over 78 countries across Africa, Americas, Asia and Oceania, and Europe, covering over 95% of the irrigated area of the world and we are expecting a large contingent of international visitors to attend.

A large free to attend exhibition will also be held over three days in conjunction with the two major irrigation conferences and delegates registering for either event can attend sessions at either event and the exhibition.

Bryan Ward, Irrigation Australia CEO

"The theme will specifically focus on innovation and research but will include topics such as energy provision and affordability, urban water policy and reform, infrastructure development and drought-management strategies. The Abstract Review Panel is looking for submissions that reflect these topics, but it will consider any abstracts submitted in other topics."

"Delegates and visitors to the Irrigation Australia conference and exhibition are the expert core of our industry, and they want to hear from similar-minded industry professionals and the event in 2020 brings the significant added advantage of the many ICID international delegates with wide experience in the irrigation and drainage sector”.

“The conference audience will be diverse, covering every aspect of the international and Australian irrigation industry and brings together irrigators, suppliers, equipment manufacturers, researchers, water supply organisations, advisors, government officials and policy makers from across the rural and urban irrigation industries”. We are looking for concise, informative abstract, so the committee can properly understand what the papers offers.” A panel of industry experts across a diverse cross section of the irrigation industry had been selected to review all abstracts and select presentations.
